About visiting the autumn edition of VETERAMA, which took place on October 11-13, 2024. one of the largest events of this type in Europe, we decided, having German motorcycles in the queue, including: BMW, DKW or NSU. Such motorcycles are the core of this incredible bazaar event. Motorcycles and parts from brands such as PUCH, HARLEY DAVIDSON, INDIAN, MOTO-GUZZI, PEUGEOT, ARIEL, NORTON, TRIUMPH AND BSA are also popular. The whole is complemented by a whole lot of motorcycles from less known, more niche brands. Some are in their original condition, in various conditions, from complete wrecks torn out of the pond to complete and well-kept ones, others after renovation – there is something for everyone. Either way, there’s something to keep an eye on. It’s not uncommon to find raisins that leave even us stunned and make us unable to “pick up our jaws from the floor.” This is not a place where we can find former DDR motorcycles to which we are very accustomed. You won’t find many MZs or Simsons here, and in fact, almost no vehicles from the IFA factory. Rather more expensive and more sophisticated examples. This is an important event for us, but we are not regular visitors. We try to alternately go to the sister edition of VETERAMA in Hockenheim, which takes place in spring each year, depending on our needs. It is a great place to meet our suppliers and customers and to establish completely new business contacts.
Companies with original parts and replicas from all over the continent exhibit here, as well as teams presenting motorcycles, cars and other vehicles – tractors and military vehicles. There is also a large stock size chart available that is available for a wide variety of sizes. It is possible to use it thematically, which has changed a lot since the previous presentation. They chose German, which was good, because previously there were cars mixed with motorcycles, and there were also monuments, antiques and clothes from the era. Total chaos and a big problem in finding anything that concerns us. The situation was complicated by the parameters of the bazaar itself. To get to each stand, you need 2 full days of walking, 8 hours a day. The scale is unimaginable and this event cannot be compared to others. The disadvantage, however, is the distance to be covered – 2,400 km from our company’s headquarters, up to two days spent in the car plus 2 days on site, but seeing this wonderful celebration of historic motoring live makes up for every hardship of the trip. I highly recommend it to every enthusiast of historical and classic motoring. Below are some of the most interesting shots from this event.
